What is HomePath financing?
HomePath is a special financing program available to individuals purchasing Fannie Mae owned (foreclosed) properties.
Fannie Mae is a government sponsored enterprise that purchases mortgages from lenders on the secondary market. Fannie Mae acquires properties through foreclosure, deed in lieu of foreclosure, or forfeiture when homeowners can no longer afford their Fannie Mae purchased mortgage.
What are the benefits of HomePath financing?
- 3% down payment instead of 3.5% for FHA loans
- The down payment can be funded by you, a gift, a grant, or a loan from an employer
- No mortgage insurance
- No appraisal fees
- No pre-payment penalty
What homes are eligible for HomePath financing?
Any Fannie Mae owned home may be eligible for HomePath financing.
